The historic family estate, whose history goes back almost half a millennium and which is part of the history of the village of Chambolle-Musigny, is the only wine estate that produces fine Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines from the Musigny Grand Cru vineyard. It is by far the biggest owner of the Musigny Grand Cru vineyard.
But here we are talking about the Bonnes Mares Grand Cru from the 2022 vintage. It has the lightness and femininity of a Musigny, but also the body and rusticity of a Morey St Denis and shows clear notes of ripe black fruit, plum, which is very typical of the 2022 vintage due to the warm summer, but also a beautiful medicinal note that adds complexity. Soft and velvety on the palate, with a combination of light-weight and rusticity from the two neighbouring vineyards, this is a special wine that stands out from all other producers. Everything is perfectly harmonised, showing the experience of several centuries and the flexibility to adapt to the changing climate and always produce a high quality wine, no matter how difficult the year is. It is of course still very young and needs a few more years of ageing.
Prices are rising steadily but there are still plenty of riper vintages out there, especially from the 80s and 90s, waiting to be drunk. I would give the drinking window as follows: 2030-2050.
