Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is a renowned winery in the heart of the Chambolle-Musigny region of Burgundy, known for its exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. With a history dating back to the 15th century, the estate is celebrated for its commitment to traditional winemaking practices and its focus on expressing the unique terroir of the Côte de Nuits.
Obviously one of the most sought-after and exciting vineyards in Burgundy. Since Vogue owns most of the land, it has the opportunity to select the best grapes for this wine, which of course makes it stand out. Even in a warm vintage like 2022, the wine has a lightness and elegance that makes you feel as if you are in a ballet. Hard to beat in complexity with notes of black cherry, dried fruit, smoke, iodine, thyme, red rose to name a few. Extremely soft and silky on the palate. Very addictive after another sip. Very long finish that is still reminiscent of the old school and distances itself from other Musigny and is in a class of its own. I am fascinated by the flow of this wine when young, but those who are patient will be rewarded. Best drinkable from 2030-2060.
Here too, prices have risen enormously in recent years, but there are still plenty of more mature vintages on offer at affordable prices, especially in various auction houses.
